Spotlight Kids will be touring Hawaii July
1-7, 2009. Spotlight Kids Show Choir
The ensemble was selected to represent
the state of Florida at Hawaii's 50th Anniversary Celebration of
its Statehood.
Spotlight will be joining choirs and
orchestras from every state performing for the citizens of
Hawaii. While in Waikiki, Spotlight will be performing at
the Waikiki Shell and at Pearl Harbor @ The US Missouri.
In addition to these performances, Spotlight will be touring the
Island and its rich cultural heritage.
Spotlight Kids was formed from the
Longleaf Elementary Freedom Review Show Choir. Freedom
performed for the National Anthem Project in Washington DC in
2006. It was at the performance on the Lincoln Memorial Steps
that Freedom/Spotlight Kids was invited to Hawaii!
Spotlight Kids is a community show choir
directed by Longleaf resident Jim Wanker. Students
in Spotlight Kids represent Longleaf Elementary,
Deer Park Elementary, River Ridge Middle and Seven
Springs Middle Schools.
