Longleaf...

Pasco's 1st "Green" Neighborhood!

Longleaf receives Pasco County’s first

“Green Development” designation

from the Florida Green Building Coalition!

“Green” attributes of a TND:

  • Compact, mixed-use, walkable neighborhoods lessen reliance on automobiles by providing attractive alternatives to car-trips for many daily needs.

  • Interconnected streets reduce the distance of car trips by providing a more direct route to your destination, compared to curving cul-de-sac subdivisions.

  • Compact (higher density) development means fewer acres of development impacts on the natural environment.  This means more woods and open fields remain, where kids can play, and where the balance of nature remains in place.

  • Smaller lawns means less irrigation, pesticides, fertilizers, and runoff, as well as less time spent mowing!

  • Using the design characteristics of the region’s traditional architecture, buildings are more likely to be well-adapted to the climate, making them more durable and energy efficient.
